As seen on WLTX, Richland Library invited the community to take part in a wall-breaking ceremony October 17, 2016 to kick off the construction process. After grabbing a sledgehammer and taking a swing, Cynthia Byrd talked about the impact that the building had on her three kids' educations. "We would check out books. They would do book reports. They would utilize computers - do homework here and also participate in the summer reading program...they got a great foundation here at the library."
